Pisciotta is a village located about 200 metres above sea level, not far from nearby Marina di Pisciotta. The historic core of the village is very atmospheric, with many buildings dating from the Middle Ages. From Pisciotta above you reach the Marina below on foot down a long flight of steps.

This small town on the Tyrrhenian coastline offers amazing views, on mist-free days, of the Gulf of Naples and Capri. The village became famous after it was chosen as the set for the Italian blockbusting comedy film Benvenuti al Sud (Welcome to the South). In this corner of the Cilento, the pace of life is slow and relaxed. Dominating the medieval old town is an incredible castle that towers between the sky and the sea, from which spectacular views can be enjoyed. Descending towards the marina, instead, brings you to a charming fishing village.

The Calore River Gorge in the Cilento and Vallo di Diano National Park is an extraordinary natural heritage. The Calore river forms a series of no less than five gorges and/or valleys, on its way down to the sea from Mount Cervati, although the most striking one is located in the area between Felitto and Magliano.

Trentinara is the ideal place for rediscovering ancient traditions while strolling through the suggestive old centre of the town, with its slow-paced life, like slowly rising bread, which is a food staple in southern Italy and a speciality in Trentinara. It’s also the right place to head to for a romantic getaway, with its “Love Way” and the magnificent views from the “Terrace of the Cilento”.
